Top 7 Tips for a Successful Blog Post

Get Your Title Right

You definitely need to have a strong title for your post. This should draw people in with something catchy, that will make them want to read more. In addition to this, it should contain the keyword phrase that you select to use. When you have the keyword phrase in the title, this makes it so that the search engine picks it up with greater ease, and it will likely end up higher on the search results. 

A Great Intro Paragraph

The first paragraph, otherwise known as your introduction, needs to have a few key elements. It needs to contain a hook that will make the reader want to continue with your post. It must have your keyword phrase, the same as what’s in the title. Finally, it should have a brief summary of what’s to come in the post. 

Sub-Headings for Readability

It’s a good idea to have multiple sub-headings in a blog post. This way, it breaks up the text to allow for easier readability. Your audience is much more likely to stay on the page and read a lot further if it’s not just a big block of text or paragraphs without some variety to keep things more interesting. 

Great Content

The content of your post is one of the most important aspects. You’ll want to write what your readers are going to want to read. Keep in mind what they’ll want to know and what will be interesting in general. It can be on a subject that’s directly having to do with what you sell or something that’s in a related field. 

Photos That Tie it Together

Your images are going to be crucial to your blog. They break up text and make it easier for your readers to understand the point you’re attempting to get across. When the topic is something that really makes more sense with photos, you’ll want something there as a good reference. 

Meta Description

Did you know that Google is going to just take the first sentence or two from your post to include in the search engine description? Since this isn’t always what will properly represent your content, you’ll want to put together a meta description. The snippet may end up being what ropes people into checking out your blog post, so make sure that it’s a strong description. 

Call to Action

Place your call to action for the readers in the conclusion paragraph of your blog post. This is a nice way to wrap everything up. It reminds them of what your business is all about and how what they just read ties into why they searched for that keyword phrase in the first place. Make sure that it’s clear how they should contact you and that it includes a link to the relevant web page.
